Hardanger update: second project finished
by HML
At least two people on my gift list will get handmade embroidery for Christmas this year! Follow the jump for a peek at the newest piece.
Overall the Mindy centerpiece turned out to be much simpler than the Vesterheim centerpiece: smaller and more basic satin stitch motifs, much, much less cutting, and simpler needleweaving (no picots or other decorative fillings). Once I could devote all my time to it, this project finished up very quickly. For example, the cutting and needleweaving for the Vesterheim centerpiece took almost a month to complete, but I finished the same steps for Mindy in six days. This would be a relatively easy and quick project for another gift … or I may have to make one for myself after the holidays; this one looks quite pretty on the table.
On to the last two projects!

Lovely & beautifully done. It really does look more white than it did before the cutting.

I’m just relieved that it looks like the picture in the book.
